Offering Core Process Psychotherapy
A Mindfulness – based approach
What is Core Process Psychotherapy (CPP)?
Core Process Psychotherapy was established in 1982 (http://www.karuna-institute.co.uk) and
draws from Western psychological theories and Eastern philosophy (mindfulness training).
It helps us to explore how we experience ourselves and others in the present moment. Each of us
shapes our personalities in a unique form, which we identify as "me" through which we relate to
the outer world.
In a compassionate and empathic field, there is a joint enquiry and a developing awareness of how
our history can limit us in our daily lives and relationships and a shift from identification with
conditioned self to our Core State is the start of the healing journey.
How can Core Process Psychotherapy help?
Most people experience times when external support becomes needed to help them go through
difficulties or DISTRESS.
This mindfulness-based psychotherapeutic approach where the therapist is there to really
listen with respect, acceptance, kindness and empathy can support people through issues such
as: loss or bereavement, relationship difficulties, loss of self-esteem and low self confidence,
depression and anxiety and many others.
